Quilt Appraisals at Our Quilt Show

Posted on Updated on

Why should you have a quilt appraised? Maybe you want to know its fair market value, or need to know how much it is worth for insurance or tax purposes, or perhaps you’re just curious!

Sandra Palmer, an American Quilter’s Society certified appraiser, will appraise quilts at the Merrimack Valley Quilt Show on September 30th and October 1st by appointment. The cost is $60 (a show special, regularly $75), payable by cash or check.

To sign up, use this link.

Also, print out this form and fill in as much as you know about the quilt, and bring it with you, along with your quilt, to your appointment. Stay with your quilt at your appointment as Sandra tells you all about it!

This is a unique opportunity to find out how much your quilt is worth. Sign up now before MVQG offers the appointment spaces to other guilds!

If you have any questions, email Jamie Ruh.

Thank you,
Jamie

Raffle Quilt Travels

Posted on Updated on

It is fun to be looking forward to our new MVQ season. The Quilt Show planning is underway, and our raffle quilts will be traveling soon. We have three new events on our calendar at this point. To make this happen, we will need volunteers to set up, sit at the table and sell tickets, and do take down.

Here are the events currently on our schedule:

Groveland Days – September 10

Crafters on the Common (Bradford, MA) – September 24th

Pine Tree Quilt Shop Hop (Salem, NH) – October 13, 14, 15th

If your community or organization is holding an event that might be a good place to sell tickets, please let us know. If you’re new to the guild and have questions, please call or email us. Our travel quilt has always been a good way to promote our guild and a good source of revenue for us.

Details and scheduling of time slots will be posted as we get closer to the dates. Watch our website, Facebook pages, and email for information.

Looking forward to our new year,

Betty Hastings, Raffle Quilt Travel Chair

Judy Naylor, Raffle Quilt Travel Vice-Chair

We lost a great and talented member last week. Jeanne Robertson past away on July 22nd.

Jeanne was a long-time member of the guild whom many of you will fondly remember. Her smile alone was enough to brighten even the dreariest old days.
