The following is from an e-mail sent out by MQX team.
While we have kept everything going in hopes of having a show in 2021, it has become abundantly clear that the gathering of us all at MQX 2021 is not going to happen. The uncertainty about when a COVID vaccine will be available, how many will get vaccinated, whether large gatherings will be permitted at all, and the likely reduced class sizes, makes it impossible. Based on all this and the uncertain future, we have made the heartbreaking decision to close MQX Quilt Festivals permanently.
We will be working on refunds for 2020 in the coming weeks. Please go to the MQX website, click on MY MQX, log in, and make sure that your name and address is correct as the refunds will be in check form and mailed to you.
Since that first gathering in Janet-Lee’s home on April 15, 2000 and ultimately turning that gathering into MQX, it has been a tremendous amount of work and so very rewarding. We are deeply grateful to have met so many incredible individuals and worked with companies that have supported us for almost 20 years.
Keep on quilting!

Will Be – Thursday, October 15, 2020
I am pleased to announce that Merrimack Valley Quilters Guild will present their very first live, virtual guild meeting. We will use the GoToMeeting.com platform to present the meeting. An email will be sent to all the members with a link to join the meeting. Please feel free to share the email and link to friends that wish to attend as a guest. You could invite some friends over to have a virtual meeting small gathering!
The meeting will start around 6:15 – 6:30 pm as a live, open meeting to give everyone a chance to socialize. The meeting will be called to order at 7:00 pm. At that time, we will request that anyone who is not on the agenda to speak to please turn off their camera. We will silence all audio at that time except for the person who is speaking. We are not planning to schedule a speaker. Therefore, the meeting should not be too much longer than an hour. We will have information presented by our committees and a show and tell segment. There will be a chat option available during the meeting if you would like to ask questions.
Please contact me or any member of the board if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you and I look forward to “seeing” you on the 15th.
Elizabeth Swan, President
I am trying to make the website more inviting for non-members. To achieve this, I created a new home (main) page with a form to submit for more information.
The old blog posts are now under News and Updates. You will still get e-mails when a new blog post is created, but they are no longer on the home page.
If you are looking for specific blog post information, use either the search or category feature to the right.
As we adjust with the times, there will more changes to come. Most are to make it easier for everyone.
I hope you have been enjoying the crisp autumn air and getting out in the sunshine.
This is a NEW UPDATE about the Fall Retreat at FGH 11/11/20 to 11/15/20….
Maine is lifting the travel restriction for Massachusetts residents beginning 9/24/20. Those people traveling from Massachusetts will no longer be required to have a COVID test.
Please let Phyllis Lauria (email@example.com) know ASAP if you would like to attend the Fall Retreat based on this information. Currently, there are only 5 people interested in the retreat and that is not enough people to go forward.
We need to let FGH know on 9/25/20 if we will be having the retreat.
