Our December meeting is around the corner. Here’s an update on the programs part of our meeting.
Our guest speaker will be Sandra Golbert, an artist who works in many genre. She will be sharing her technique for making 3-D tags; just in time for holiday gifts you have to wrap. Sandra will share directions for doing this process as well as additional projects. Those directions will be available by email. Check out Sandra’s unique art work here.
Our holiday hostess raffle basket is almost complete. As soon as a few more donations arrive it will be wrapped and ready for pickup or delivery to the winner. Tickets are $5.00 each will be available on the guild’s web site. If you are not a user of PayPal, you can send me a check or drop off cash for the tickets you want. Ticket sales will be open until December 1st at midnight and the drawing will be held at our meeting. This is a fund raiser for us. If the basket doesn’t fill your needs, consider re-gifting it or its contents.
Feel free to contact me if you have questions or comments. I’m looking forward to ‘seeing’ you.
I want to thank everyone that participated in the challenge. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did coordinating. Every email with an entry was like getting a beautiful surprise in my inbox. So many unique and creative ways to use a Jelly Roll. We have exceptionally talented quilters in our group. Based on the responses, I would have to say that the Jelly Roll Challenge was a success. Since we are unable to meet, this was a fun way to get members engaged.
Thank you to the judges for taking time to participate.
Special thanks to Red Barn Sewing and Yarn Center, Compass Point Quilts and Aunt Mary’s Quilting for their generous donation of a gift certificate. The winner of each category will be receiving one of these gift certificates.
Michele Maurice – Best Use of Color
Linda Lydecker – Best Overall Design
Mary Hoag-Wilkes – Best Visual Impact
I have some ideas ‘percolating’ for another challenge this winter. Stay tuned…
Wishing everyone a Safe, Healthy, and Happy Holiday Season!
