The 2020 UFO Auction will be held at our Guild meeting on February 20th! Call to Action to help make it FANTASTIC!
We have started accepting donations and encourage you to take this opportunity to recycle your stash and make room for new projects! Also, if you know any non-member quilters that would like to make fabric donations (perhaps they are moving?), please mention our auction to them. We are available to meet people and/or come to your homes for pick ups.
We would like donations of quilting cotton fabric, unfinished quilt projects, quilting supplies, embroidery, knitting, vintage sewing items and quilting books newer than 2015 (no magazines, please), and any other items you think would be of interest to your fellow quilters.
Donations will also be accepted at the Guild meeting on January 23rd. At this meeting, we will have a volunteer sign up sheet to assist us in sorting on Saturday, February 15th and Auction set up to begin a few hours before the event.
Thank you all in advance for your contribution to another successful auction!

Thank you to everyone who donated a comfort quilt to support High Pointe House in Haverhill and Believe Anything and Everything is Possible – an organization to support patients undergoing chemotherapy. We presented 68 beautiful quilts to two very grateful organizations. You are ALL amazing and all the ladies accepting the quilts were overwhelmed by your generosity!!!!!
A special thank you is just not enough for Bev Valle who made the Dragonfly Quilt for High Pointe House and Cathy Harnisch who quilted it – it was exquisite! And it won Viewer’s Choice at our Show!!! You 2 ladies have created more than a quilt, but memories for so many families for years to come. Here is a photo of that quilt being presented at the meeting and we’ll have more photos from our photographers soon.
Our next organization will Foster Kids of the Merrimack Valley. Larry Giordano, President of this organization, will be talking with us at the January meeting. They are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of foster children in the Merrimack Valley including all of Greater Haverhill, Lawrence, Methuen, Andover, and North Andover. They serve children from newborn to age 17 and tell me the greatest needs are with teenage boys so we will keep that in mind. Watch the newsletter for more info as I have asked Larry’s wife Eileen for more specifics on quilt sizes, etc. prior to his visit in January.
Thank you all again for your kindness and generosity. Quilters are just amazing people and we are an amazing Guild filled with so much talent and spirt it is mind boggling!
We have had a wonderful response to ticket sales for our Jubilee dinner at Diburros on December 5, 2019! We have nearly 90 people ready to celebrate our 40 years as a guild!
There is still time to buy your ticket! We will be selling tickets for the celebration until November 15, 2019.
If you would like a ticket, please contact Phyllis Lauria at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Congratulations to Ruth Martineau for winning the raffle for a free Jubilee ticket.
Thank you to those who have sent in pictures of themselves from 40 years ago and of their first quilts. There is still time to be a good sport! You can email pictures to Liz Swan.
