From the Penny Raffle Table

We hope that all of you had an enjoyable holiday this past weekend.  Please donate lottery tickets and fat quarters for our table at our show the end of September.  Especially lottery tickets – we are low on those.  We need both items Before set up day.  There is a quilt show meeting on 9/18, and the guild meeting on 9/19, please see me.

Silent Auction

The Silent Auction is looking for handmade items for the auction table.  Handmade items such as bags, placemats, wall decorations etc. are welcome.  Attached are a few photos for ideas.  We appreciate any donation you have.  Please let Gail Forthoffer know if you have something to donate (gforth@comcast.net) and bring to the September meeting.  If you are dropping something off at the meeting or on Thursday at Hope Church, please be sure your name is on it so we can recognize our donors!

Message from Show Chair

September is just around the corner and there are a couple of areas that need your help. 

* So far, we only have 3 people committed to contributing a Penny Raffle Basket.  Lottery tickets and fat quarters are needed.  Please let Bev Knapp (bevknapp@verizon.net) or Jennifer Roberts (JRoberts3655@gmailo.com) know if you will be bringing a Penny Raffle Basket to the show.  Bags for lottery tickets and fat quarters will be available at our September meeting.

* If you are putting a quilt in the show your form needs to be to Layne Rando ASAP! (laynesloft@comcast.net)  We will be finalizing the booklet in the next 2 weeks. 

* We still need someone to take over hanging show quilts.  That person would shadow Carrie as she does the hanging this year.  Please consider volunteering for this job.

Help needed for white elephant

Ladies, I need your help.  Some of us attended an estate sale a couple of weeks ago at a home where a woman was a quilter and had lots of fabric.  She moved to an assisted care facility.  The family has hired a dumpster to clean out the home to prepare the house for selling.  They will allow our guild to go in and take the rest of the fabric for free, however, we need to do this on Wednesday, July 24th at 9 am.  I know it is very short notice, but if you are able to help fill trash bags and bring them out to Angie’s car or my truck please email me at liz@swanquilting.com.  Be advised that we will be cleaning out 3 floors of this home and everything is in disarray.  It will be hot, dirty work but will give a real boost to our white elephant room this year.  Please consider helping out.  I look forward to hearing from you.  Thank you!
