Quilt as you go Mini Mid-Mod Quilts

These charming little quilts are inspired by Mid-Century Modern design and make a great skill-building project for learning several quilting techniques.

We will start with a simple, modern color palette of neutral fabrics with a flash of color. Clean lines and simple design give each tiny composition a sophisticated feel. Since we are working very small, this is a great project for using small scraps and bits of special fabric.

February 20, 2027 – Workshop

Liz Swan

Back to basics – What inspires you to make quilts, and what keeps drawing you back to this wonderful craft? Whether you are just beginning or ready for the next step, this workshop will give you time to reflect on where you are in your quilting journey, where you would like to go, and how you can grow at your own pace—remembering that perfection looks different for everyone. Together, we will explore everything from choosing fabric and patterns to adding finishing touches like labels and hanging sleeves. We will also spend time on important skills such as cutting, piecing, and pressing, with practical tips to help you feel more confident. Bring your sewing machine and a project if you would like to enjoy some open sewing, share your work, and get friendly help with any questions or challenges.

A Quilter’s Tune‑Up – Have you ever wondered if small habits are quietly sneaking into your piecing or shaping the way your quilt shows up? Maybe your quarter‑inch seam has drifted, your blocks aren’t squaring the way they used to, or your binding has developed a mind of its own. Let’s dust off the fundamentals and give our quilting routines a little spring cleaning. Together, we’ll revisit the core techniques that keep our quilts crisp, confident, and beautifully made.
