Another Great MVQ Holiday Gathering

Posted on Updated on

Thanks to the committee for their help in preparing for last night. The  Evening had as always,  a wonderful assortment of foods, 18  gift certificate prizes, with Joanne Burns winning the grand prize of a giant jar of buttons !!!

Lots of amazing items made for the button swap were revealed as we opened for all to see.

And again thanks for the TEN big boxes of donated items.  As always this group does a wonderful job when it comes to charity.  Our children’s items will go to the Pettingil House  in Salisbury for those in need. And  adult items are going to the East Kingston Library today, who were doing a drive for homeless veterans in the state. So both New Hampshire and Massachusetts will benefit by our generous donations

And thanks to Phyllis Laurie for stepping up to chair next year.  Can’t wait to see what she and her committee have in store for us.

Happy Holidays and Happy stitching to all.  And for those who couldn’t make it last night you were missed !

Holiday Gathering Report

I think it seemed like everyone had a fun, food filled, game played evening. Lots of delicious amazing food as always shows up , a few requested recipes to appear soon on the blog, and lots of wonderful and creative gifts made for the brown bag swap. 16 members went home with gift certificates to local quilt shops as well.

And without a doubt MVQ members pull out all the stops with your wonderful donations.

Newborns in Need will receive tomorrow approximately ( hard to count it
exact) but 8 baby quilts, 26 knit/crochet Afghans, 6 knit sweaters, 15 bibs, 51 hats, 4 little handmade blankets, 55 outfits, and about 25 other assorted items like socks, mittens, burp cloths, tee shirts, etc. Truly amazing!!!!

And at the 11th hour I heard they didn’t accept toiletries so went on the hunt and this morning I brought 5 boxes of that stuff over to Salisbury to Pettengill House which help needy families. Oh Lordy they were so appreciative as they said no one ever thinks of that stuff for babies.

All in all we did yet another heartfelt drive for those less fortunate.

May everyone have a wonderful holiday season
