Cancellations

Due to the covid virus outbreak, there are a number of cancellations within the quilt world. Here are a few that directly impact the Merrimack Valley Quilters

Given the national mandates to limit gatherings to reduce the spread of Coronavirus, we are sadly cancelling our MVQ spring retreat at Franciscan Guest House in Kennebunk, Maine 3/25-3/29.
We have been in touch the FGH and were told that they are not enforcing the cancellation policy.  Therefore, we should be able to receive a full refund.

We are still working out the details and will keep you updated about the source of the refund (whether it will be from FGH or from the Guild when FGH reimburses MVQ).

In the meantime, please stay healthy and safe.  We hope that you are able to use this time for creativity and self care.

We look forward to a return to normalcy and we are hopeful for a very early spring….

The workshop with Michell scheduled for March 21st has been cancelled.

It is with a heavy heart we announce that the April MQX Quilt Festival has been canceled….. there are no words to express our sadness. The Covid 19 virus will take a physical and mental toll on all of us. Now that the CDC has recommended that events over 50 people be canceled for the next eight weeks, we are sadly left with no choice. 

At the present time we are asking you to stop all mailing of quilts for the competition and/or exhibits. Any quilts that are on their way, or have been received, will be returned. If you have special instructions for where your quilt should be returned to, contact Janet-Lee.

Please consider supporting the MQX vendors by purchasing online. Be mindful that they are taking a huge hit as well. 

We are well aware that this unprecedented situation will have a negative impact on ALL of us. We are currently evaluating what, if any, refunds MQX is responsible for and will be in touch in this regard.  We hope that with everyone’s understanding and support, we will be able to return in 2021.
