What a Trip!!!
MVQ took an incredible trip last night at our Journeys presentation!
Starting with Louise Robitaille and her remarkable quilts that she has made over the last 1o years. She has made 208 quilts in that time- [how many have you made?]
We drove the Pennsylvania Turnpike and pumped our own gas with Jane Hamel as she related the very beginnings of her quilt life!
Our trip ended with the mystery quilts of Cathy Harnish and the wedding dress she made when she married St. Thomas 27 years ago!
Thank you to these terrific ladies for including us in your Journeys!
Program December 2016
We were delighted to have Kris Poor of Poorhouse Quilt designs join us for our December meeting. She had some great projects to show us and well as demonstrations on how to use different types of fusible foam products. Kris showed us and demonstrated the making of the fold ‘n stitch wreath which so many of us have made as well as various styles and designs of bags using the fusible products and many samples of quilted bowls and how she uses the fusible foam products to make them. Kris is probably just as well recognized for her many styles of Christmas ornaments and the star ornament will be the focus of her workshop. It was a fun presentation!

October 2016 Program: Timna Tarr
We had a fun October meeting with Timna Tarr as our guest speaker. Timna Tarr is a modern quilter who works with color. Her quilts have won awards at national shows and have appeared on the cover of national quilting magazines. She is also the designer of our 2017 Raffle Quilt and brought her smaller version of that quilt to show us, along with many other beautiful quilts, design styles and colorways. Her trunk show showed us new quilting techniques that made us think outside of our traditional designs and see a new way to be inspired by color and modern design.
